This Privacy Policy describes how Atelier Seoul Skin (“the Blog,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Galya, collects, uses, and protects information from readers and visitors to atelierseoulskin.com. This policy is written in plain language because I believe readers deserve to understand what happens to their information.
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to every visitor of atelierseoulskin.com, whether you read a single article anonymously or subscribe to the email list. It does not apply to third-party websites that may be linked from this blog — each external site has its own privacy practices.
What information is collected
Information you give directly. When you subscribe to the email list, submit a comment, or contact the blog via email, you voluntarily provide your name and email address. I only use this information for the purpose you provided it for — to send you emails if you subscribed, to reply to a comment, or to respond to your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this blog automatically collects some technical information when you visit. This includes your approximate location (country, region), your browser type and version, your operating system, the pages you visit, how long you spend on them, and the site you came from (the referrer). This information is collected in aggregate and is used to understand which posts are useful to readers, which ones need improvement, and where the audience is located geographically. It is not used to identify individual readers.
Cookies. This blog uses cookies for three purposes: (1) to make the site function correctly (essential cookies), (2) to understand traffic patterns via Google Analytics (analytics cookies), and (3) to track affiliate link referrals so that retailers can credit the correct commission (affiliate cookies). You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time, though disabling essential cookies may make parts of the site malfunction.
How the information is used
To deliver the service you requested. If you subscribed to the email list, I use your email address to send you the blog’s newsletter and occasional related updates. If you emailed me a question, I use your email address to reply to you.
To understand and improve the blog. Aggregate analytics help me understand which posts are most useful and which ones are not, so I can create more of the first and improve the second.
To track affiliate referrals. When you click an affiliate link on this blog and make a purchase, a cookie allows the retailer to credit this blog with a small commission. See the Affiliate Disclosure for full details.
To comply with the law. If required by law, I may use information to respond to legal requests, protect rights, or investigate misuse of the blog.
How the information is NOT used
Your email address is never sold, rented, or given to third parties for their marketing purposes. I do not run a business of selling reader data. I do not share your email with brands, retailers, or other bloggers. I do not use your information to build profiles for advertising networks.
Email list specifics
If you subscribe to the Atelier Seoul Skin email list, you receive: occasional new-post announcements, skincare tips and research I find worth sharing, and updates about products I am testing or have recently reviewed. Nothing else.
You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. When you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from the active list. A record of your previous consent may be retained for compliance purposes for a limited period, after which it is permanently deleted.
Comments
If you leave a comment on a blog post, the name and email address you provide are stored along with the comment. Your email is never displayed publicly — only the name you chose to use. Comments are moderated to prevent spam and abuse.
Third-party services used
The following third-party services are used to operate this blog. Each has its own privacy policy, which you can review at the linked page:

- Google Analytics / Search Console — traffic and search analytics. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Rank Math — SEO plugin, does not collect personal data from readers.
- Email marketing provider (Kit / MailerLite / equivalent) — stores subscriber list. See provider’s privacy policy.

Data security
Reasonable security measures are taken to protect your information. All transmissions between your browser and the site are encrypted via HTTPS. Subscriber lists are stored on reputable email service providers with industry-standard security practices. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but I take this responsibility seriously.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: request a copy of the information held about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; withdraw consent for processing at any time; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you want to exercise any of these rights, email hello@atelierseoulskin.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and I will respond within a reasonable time frame.
Children’s privacy
This blog is intended for adult readers, particularly women aged 30 and over. It is not directed at children under 16, and information is not knowingly collected from children.

If you are reading from outside the EU, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where service providers are located. By using this blog, you consent to this transfer.
